چکیده

Abstract The Wave Catcher Shore Protection Dual Slope (WCSP-DS) is a coastal structure with dual function of shore protection and wave power generation. WCSP-DS captures seawater through overtopping into the crest reservoir resulting in higher water level than sea. This elevation difference will be pressure height (head) represented by freeboard ( Fb ) together discharge unit q main parameter for electrical power. study aims to increase value at maximum engineering effort transformation process adjusting setting position WCSP zig-zag manner adding wave-focused wall (WFW) produce deformed Hdf front WCSP-DS. Located Hasanuddin University’s Coastal & Environmental Engineering Laboratory, was carried out experimentally using geometrically scaled 1:20 physical model simulations. Three Dimensional (3D) basins size 10 m x 15 1 equipped an automatic generator data recording instrument were utilized. Two type models namely M1 (without collector) M2 (with simulated relative depth d/z ), Fb) , incoming height, period Hi T ). results indicated that increased significantly ranging from 300% 900% on 350% 1100% M2. also increases enters reservoir. By these results, combination can selected which generate optimal

2D NUMERICAL MODELING OF WAVE TRANSFORMATION ON SOFT MUDDY BEDS

The present paper offers a numerical model which can be applied for the simulation of wave height distribution on a 2-D horizontal soft mud layer. The model is based on mild slope equations and it includes combined wave refraction, diffraction, reflection and breaking. The high energy dissipation of wave height due to the presence of fluid mud layer has also been simulated. Wave height attenuat...

Wave Motion and Stop-Bands in Pipes with Helical Characteristics Using Wave Finite Element Analysis

Pipes are widely used in many industrial and mechanical applications and devices. Although there are many different constructions according to the specific application and device, these can show helical pattern, such as spiral pipes, wire-reinforced pipes/shells, spring-suspension, and so on. Theoretical modelling of wave propagation provides a prediction about the dynamic behavior, and it is f...

Weakly-compressible SPH and Experimental modeling of periodic wave breaking on a plane slope

Breaking waves have ability to transport large quantities of sediment and significant impact on coastal structures morphology. Hence, modeling of wave breaking is an important subject in coastal and marine engineering. In this research, the periodic wave breaking process on a plane slope is studied experimentally and numerically. Laboratory experiments were conducted to record water surface ele...

The zig-zag product

The expander constructions based on algebraic methods can give expanders that are both explicit (i.e. we can quickly construct the graph, or even obtain neighborhood information without constructing the entire graph, and Ramanujan, meaning that the spectral gap is essentially as large as possible. It also follows from this spectral bound that the edge expansion of Ramanujan graphs is essentiall...

On the modeling of wave–current interaction using the elliptic mild-slope wave equation

Methods to incorporate the effect of ambient currents in the prediction of nearshore wave transformation are developed. This is accomplished through the construction of a finite-element coastal/harbor wave model based on an extended mild-slope wave–current equation that includes wave breaking. Improved boundary conditions are used to provide more accurate forcing and to minimize spurious wave r...
